How do I shrink my hips and waist and make my neck thicker? Exercise and diet tips?

I am 5’2″ and 175 and trying to join the Army (my husband is already in). I’ve had a thyroid problem that has now been resolved but kept me from losing weight. I just started my Slim-Fast diet on 5/21. Currently take in no soda, have two Slim-Fast one for lunch and one for dinner. Two fruit or veggie snacks. Turkey or Chicken for dinner protein and a HUGE salad with limited Fat Free dressing. I need to lose at least 20 lbs. ASAP and any additional diet tips and exercises that will take inches of my waist and hips or thicken my neck would be helpful. Also walking/jogging 4.5 miles a day. I need to lose this weight so I can sign up for the Army!!!!

    Keep on doing what you’re doing. Add some core exercises (sit-ups and crunches, etc.) and push-ups since those are things you’ll have to do to pass your P.F.T.

    Try to up the jogging to a run in little bits at a time since you’ll have to run a certain distance in a certain amount of time.

    If you fall off the wagon for a day (or meal) get back on it and keep on trying! Good luck!!

    Wrestling does well for both.
    I thickened my neck so well, I can lay down on 2 points, head and heels, and have a girl sitting on my stomach.

    suprisingly I am having the same problem as you(minus the thyroid), and am the same height and weight. I am looking to get into the AF or Navy.

    Have you tried Yoga? I have taken a yoga class for the passed 7 wks and honestly have noticed a difference, i also run and do the gym thing as much as possible. Just keep running and doing what your doing, make sure to switch up your routines though, so your body does not get use to it.

    start lifting weights. i know lifting well make you gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. but through weight training the muscle breaks down the fat for energy. alot of shoulder exercises will build your neck muscles. just resistance training will help for the neck also. place your hands on your head an push or even use the wall. if ya run all the time ya risk shin splints and it takes at least 30 minutes of running to have any effect. the first 30 minutes will only take off water weight which youll put right back on when your done.
