  1. Pure Physique is a great book for both novice weightlifters and experienced gym rats looking for some clarity in this world of different opinions. It’s also a great resource for those who are frustrated with not seeing the results they are looking for. Pure Physique challenges the common methodology that most of us have subscribed to all our lives, which is to gain more strength and lean muscle you need to train more often and longer. He challenges this methodology with proven personal and client results. The book contains a great section on nutrition and goes into detail about eating for fat loss versus eating for muscle gain and talks about the difference between losing “weight” and losing “fat”. Also, the book really drives home the fact that any training program is hard and that results are only obtained through hard work and emphasizes the importance of developing an individualized program to suit each person’s unique body.

    The book is designed to help individuals with or without a gym membership or personal trainer. The author, Mike Lipowski stresses that muscle devlopes during recovery time, not exercise. He also includes a chapter heavy on motivation. After reading this book you can learn how to make your training and nutrition diet more effective and efficient.

    Having finished reading this book I found it very informative and enjoyable. I have been using the eating tips from this book to help tweak my own diet and have noticed a big difference in my body. I also found the cardio section very useful for fat loss whilst retaining muscle size. This is definitely a book I will refer back to regularly.
