    The author has his opinion that certain weight training exercises work, and based on my experiences from volumes one and two, they do work. This volume contains a lot of the same exercises as volume 2, just some longer workouts and therefore a bit more intense. The diet suggestions are basic, but very practical.

    My only major negative critique of his work is that I go a few weeks into the training program, feeling it is a bit too easy, then I hit somewhere in the middle and I am barely hanging on. Also, while this is an EXCELLENT book to throw in your gym bag to guide your workouts, there is no discussion of why these exercises work and what they work – that is for a different book.

    Running a book store I have spent alot of time reviewing many of the books that come into the store, especially the weight loss style books. This book is exactly as it is presented. It works! I am in my 50s and have been working out for 30 years. This has been the most effective program. The low carb week is difficult but it is only for 5 days and you will get results from the weight lifting. I have been weight lifting most of my life and I am a hard gainer. This has produced some great results. The best I have ever had and best of all this is not a complicated program with difficult food to prepare. I highly recommend this for all ages. You won’t be disappointed.

    I have been using this book for a month and so far I have lost 26 pounds. It is a great book to get you away from the machines and to start using free weights. I am also very excited, because I am starting to see some definition. I highly recommend this book (it is spiral bound, so it is easy to take with you). Good Luck!
